This session will discuss the business case for financial sector engagement in addressing issues related to biodiversity and ecosystem services, explore the risks that financial institutions are exposed to, and especially focus on the opportunities in the sustainable use of ecosystem services. Issues to be discussed:

• Benefits to the finance sector from engaging in biodiversity-related risks and opportunities?
• Commercial opportunities of biodiversity / ecosystem conservation for the private sector?
• Innovative investments in biodiversity & ecosystem services
