Latin American Task Force Coordination & Communications Assistance
Next available: Mid Summer 2008
The intern will assist the Latin American Task Force Coordinator in coordinating the LATF’s Work Programme. Through the Task Force, UNEP FI is working with banks throughout Latin America to support and expand sustainable financial practice in the region. Activities include: Awareness-raising and dissemination; Capacity-building through workshops and online training courses; Network building for information and best practice sharing between FIs and key stakeholders; Research & tool development.

The intern will be based preferably in Latin America and work remotely, or in Geneva at UNEP FI Headquarters. Tasks and responsibilities will include: assistance in coordinating the LATF’s Training Programme, implementing and developing communications strategies and tools, undertaking basic research as necessary for the development, delivery and dissemination of new implementation tools for the financial sector.
Requirements:
- academic background in international relations, communications (major), environmental sciences, business, economics, finance, or related fields (minor)
- fluency in English and Spanish
- excellent oral and written communications skills
- sense of diplomacy & attention to detail
- solid IT skills
- strong organisational skills & ability to work remotely
- availability for 6 months, preferably on a full-time basis
As a Unit of the United Nations Environment Programme, UNEP FI does not provide any remuneration for internships. Interns should be enrolled in a university programme throughout their internship.

E-Learning Programme on Environtmental & Social Risk Analysis (ESRA) Coordination & Communications Assistance
Next available: Mid Summer 2008
The intern will support UNEP FI’s Regional Task Force Coordinators in coordinating the Environmental and Social Risk E-Learning Programme. Courses are targeted at risk analysts in financial institutions and are delivered for audiences in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Central & Eastern Europe, and Latin America.

The intern will be based in Geneva and coordinate the marketing and administration of ESRA courses. Tasks will include developing promotional materials and partnerships in different regions, managing registrations, and liaising with course participants, tutors and associates throughout the courses.
Requirements:
- academic background in business, economics, finance, international relations, communications, environmental sciences or related field
- fluency in English and Spanish
- excellent oral and written communications skills
- strong organisational skills & attention to details
- ability to work with extended and remote teams
- availability for 6 months, preferably on a full-time basis
