Mr. Yoshiaki Shin, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co.,Ltd. Senior Managing Director & Senior Executive Officer

Mr. Shin has received a bachelor's degree in economics from Kyushu University, Japan in 1968.

He entered The Sumitomo Marine and Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. After he carried out his carrier in Fire & Casualty Underwriting Dept., the Hong Kong subsidiary and as General Manager of Second Production Dept. of Osaka Head Office, he was inaugurated as Director, General Manager of Secretariat & Corporate Planning Dept. in 1995. He took charge of Secretariat when the company drafted the "Statement of Environmental Commitment by the Insurance Industry". (Sumitomo Marine and Fire Insurance was elected as a member of UNEP Insurance Industry Initiative(III) Steering Committee in 1997).

Mr. Shin was inaugurated as Managing Director in 1999. In October, 2001, when Sumitomo Marine and Fire Insurance merged with The Mitsui Marine & Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. and started as Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd., he was inaugurated as Managing Director, Managing Executive Officer. Mr. Shin was inaugurated as Senior Managing Director, Senior Executive Officer in June, 2002. He is in charge of the International Dept. from June, 2003.

Mr. Shin is a member of UNEP Insurance Industry Initiative (III) Steering Committee.

Mr. Masashi Kaneko, Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer, Nikko Cordial Corporation, Director, Nikko Cordial Securities Inc.

Mr. Kaneko, born in 1939, obtained his bachelor's degree in economics from The University of Tokyo and joined The Nikko Securities Co., Ltd. (currently, Nikko Cordial Corporation) in 1962.

Having served as Director and Chief Investment Officer of Nikko International Capital Management Limited (currently, Nikko Asset Management Co., Ltd.), he became a board member of The Nikko Securities Co., Ltd. in 1988 and was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in 1997.

In 1999, Nikko group launched "Nikko Eco Fund," the first SRI fund in Japan. Under Mr. Kaneko's leadership, Nikko group has been aggressively promoting efforts toward the preservation of environment and the realization of sustainable growth.

In June 2001, Mr. Kaneko was appointed Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Nikko Securities Co., Ltd. He successfully reorganized the company into a holding company structure and the company was renamed to Nikko Cordial Corporation.

Currently, Mr. Kaneko is Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Nikko Cordial Corporation and Director of Nikko Cordial Securities Inc. since June 2003. His responsibilities include representing Nikko Cordial group in industrial associations, such as Japan Securities Dealers Association (Vice-Chairman) and The Security Analysts Association of Japan (Chairman).
