Professional Career
As of March 2000, Chairman of the Portuguese Securities Exchange Commission (CMVM - Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários). Since May 2000, Chairman of the Executive Committee of IOSCO (International Organization of Securities Commissions). Since December 2001, President of CESR Expert Group which prepares CESR's responses to mandates from the European Commission on possible implementing measures of the proposed Prospectus Directive.
Academic Activity
Publication and presentation of several articles in journals, books, conferences, and congresses in the areas of Macroeconomic and Monetary Theory and Policy. Teaching of several courses in those areas at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Economics, University of Porto between 1992 and 1995.

James Lawden, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, representing International Bar Association (IBA)
James Lawden is a partner in Freshfields Foreign Law Office, Tokyo. He joined the firm in 1979 and became a partner in 1988. He has been based in Asia since 1992, working in both the Tokyo and Bangkok offices. He is a member of the Dai-ichi Tokyo Bar Association and is licensed to practice English law in Japan.
His practice includes M&A, joint ventures, privatisations, project finance and securitisations. He has closely followed developments in the approach to corporate governance in the UK and elsewhere. He is a regular contributor and speaker on corporate issues including corporate governance, especially within a pan Asian context.

Mr. Jamie Allen, Secretary General, Asian Corporate Governance Association, Hong Kong (www.acga-asia.org)
Mr. Allen is the founding Secretary General of the Asian Corporate Governance Association. He is a published author and has more than 16 years experience as a writer, editor and analyst covering the political economy of Greater China and East Asia from Hong Kong. Prior to the establishment of ACGA in mid-1999, Mr. Allen ran his own consulting firm, Allen Wong Associates, which carried out customised economic research on mainly finance-related topics, including corporate governance, for blue-chip clients in Asia. From 1992-95 he worked for the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) as editor of Business Asia, a regional management newsletter, and was a contributor to The Economist magazine from 1994-96. Mr Allen began his journalistic career in the late 1980s as a reporter for the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong. He is a graduate of the Australian National University, Canberra, where he received a BA (Honours) in political science and Chinese language.
In 2001, Mr. Allen was appointed to a new Shareholders Group formed by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission to advise it on shareholder rights and interests. In the same year, he was selected for inclusion in the International Who's Who of Professionals.
He lives in Hong Kong with his family.

Mr. Michael Hoelz, Global Head of Sustainable Development, Deutsche Bank & Chair of UNEP FI/FII
Michael Hoelz was born in 1951, is married and has 2 children. After successfully completing an apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank and thereafter studying Business Management at the University of Mannheim, he joined Badische Kommunale Landesbank Mannheim as Head of the Board of Management's Office. Since 1986 he has been working for Deutsche Bank Group and is currently the Global Head of Public Affairs and Sustainable Development.
He is a board member of several Deutsche Bank organizations including Alfred-Herrhausen-Society for International Dialogue, Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation and Deutsche Bank Africas Foundation. His responsibilities include representing Deutsche Bank in national and international committees, i.e. UNEP - Financial Initiative (chairman) Global Compact of UN (representative of Deutsche Bank, Advisory Council), Global Reporting Initiative (member of board of directors), Bellagio Forum for Sustainable Development (chairman), World Business Council for Sustainable Development and others.
