On 5 April, 2006 the UNEP FI Central and Eastern European Task Force held a high-level meeting on sustainable finance in Moscow, Russia. The event included presentations on corporate social responsibility, environmental regulations influencing financial services and environmental risks in project financing. A panel discussion was organised around the theme of sustainable banking products, after first Russian financial institutions have launched green credit cards in the past year. Speakers included:

  • Mark Thompson, Senior Manager, PricewaterhouseCoopers
  • Evgeny Shvarts, Director Conservation Policy, WWF
  • Dimitry Kabalinsky, Deputy Director, RA Expert
This event was organised in collaboration with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and WWF Russia. Follow up activities to this event will now be discussed within the Central and Eastern European Task Force.
