Sustainable Real Estate Investment

Thursday 27 October 2016

Five of the world’s largest investor networks, in cooperation with the Global Alliance on Buildings and Construction and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors have come together to create a concise, actionable framework for the Real Estate industry to help make sense of existing environmental, social and governance (ESG) guidance and provide a follow up framework for action to the 2015 Paris Agreement.

The Dubai Real Estate Institute hosts this Lunch Event in partnership with UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, in conjunction with UNEP FI’s Global Round Table (GRT) in Dubai.

We are pleased to invite you to this lunch event to present our Sustainable Real Estate Investment – Implementing the Paris Climate Agreement: An Action Framework and discuss with you on how we can effectively integrate climate risks into real estate scale, capitalize on investment opportunities and eventually scale up investments and financing of sustainable buildings in the Middle East.

 Who should attend:

  • Asset Owners, Trustees and their Investment Advisors and Valuation Professionals
  • Direct Real Estate Investment Managers, Property Managers and their Real Estate Consultants
  • Real Estate Equity, Bond and Debt Investors and their Financial Advisors

Why you should attend

There is considerable evidence showing that climate change, energy security and resource scarcity pose clear investment risks and create significant opportunities for real estate investments.  Yet, despite the compelling case for action, the levels of current investments are well below the optimum economic and societal rates.

This event will therefore provide you with a framework on how to effectively and easily integrate ESG and climate risks and opportunities into your investment strategies, and comply with your fiduciary duty.  You will have the opportunity to learn from your peers on how they are already putting the integration of those factors into practice, their results and how you as well can benefit from investment opportunities.  In addition, it will also be an occasion to discuss how the region’s regulatory environment influences these trends.

Attendance is free, but spaces are limited. Therefore please register early by sending a confirmation to Katharina Lütkehermöller.
