• Environmental and Social Risk Analysis Advanced Workshops in Australia, June 2011
  UNEP FI and Ecobanking convene for the first time their advanced training workshop on social risk analysis in Australia in June. The seminar aims to build the technical capacity of participants to evaluate environmental and social risks generated by clients and/or investment partners-generated by simulating real-life situations.

  The engagement of Chinese banks towards environmental sustainability principles is gathering pace amid signals from policy and law makers to shift towards a low carbon economy, UNEP FI’s head, Paul Clements-Hunt, told an audience of bankers on Wednesday during a banking forum in Beijing, China.

UNEP FI’s Asia Pacific Task Force (APTF) provides a platform for all UNEP FI members based in the Asia-Pacific region to exchange ideas and best practices, and address region-specific sustainability priorities and needs. The Task Force serves to provide an Asian perspective to UNEP FI’s overall work program. The Task Force also acts as a disseminator and promoter of UNEP FI’s work in the Asia-Pacific Region, in the form of training workshops, webinars, conferences and tools, etc., to promote the adoption of best sustainability practice at all levels of financial institution operations in the Asia-Pacific region.

Within the Task Force, there are three country-based sub-groups:

1. Australasia Group
2. Japan Group
3. Korea Group
