Responsible Investment and Sustainability Rating of Korean Companies and Third Meeting of the Asia Pacific Task Force Outreach Group
The Korean weekly economic magazine Economy21 recently issued a special edition on sustainability management of industrial and financial sectors. It includes ratings conducted by Eco-Frontier, a partner of UNEP FI, which has rated Korean companies according to Innovest’s sustainability rating methodology.
The report highlights that while many Koreans are unfamiliar with responsible investment, interest in sustainability is increasing. It is expected that as Korean companies begin to adopt sustainable management, awareness of sustainability ratings will also increase. The rating results for the auto, semiconductor, steel, and oil & gas sectors are featured in the magazine’s May 2005 issue. In the future, Eco-Frontier will rate the construction, heavy industry and electric utility sectors, and will also retain a 100 Korean companies’ rating database.
