- Green Power Mediterranean
14-16 November 2005 | Rome, Italy
Organised by Green Power, the event created a focused platform for networking and knowledge transfer through a series of presentations and practical case studies, with the aim of furthering the adoption of renewable energy systems (RES) and energy efficiency (EE) programmes in the Mediterranean region.
- First CSR Forum of the Italian Banking Association (ABI)
3-4 October 2005 | Rome, Italy
This first edition of the Forum was held under the theme "Corporate Social Responsibility: Competition and New Business Strategies". Speakers included UNEP FI Steering Committee member and Senior Vice-President of Bank of America, Helen Sahi, who explored the connections between environmental risk and credit risk. - 3rd World Environmental Education Congress
2-6 October 2005 | Torino, Italy
The Congress theme was Educational Paths towards Sustainability and included a session dedicated to the connections between ecology and the economy, looking at how environmental policies affect research, technological innovation and the creation of new, sustainable occupations for the planet.
- First Western European Forum
19 May 2005 | Barcelona, Spain
Finance, Environment and Sustainable Development
Convened to build on previous events in the region, such as the European Seminar on Finance, Environment and Sustainable Development (Paris, 2003), the first Western European Forum provided European Signatories, a key section of UNEP FI’s membership, an opportunity to obtain and exchange information on a number of key sustainability issues specific to the finance and insurance sectors.

- CSR Meeting Hosted by Associazione Bancaria Italiana (ABI)

ABI, the association of Italian banks, held CSR Meeting for the Italian Banking sector. UNEP FI, Banca Monte Paschi di Siena, the Initiative’s first Italian Signatory, and Standard Chartered plc, were invited to present their work and experience to the members of ABI.
