Risk Analysis Workshops

Training Workshops on Environmental & Social Risks Analysis (ESRA)

» Español

In 2005, UNEP FI’s Latin American Task Force (LATF) in collaboration with the Ecobanking Project launched its Environmental & Social Risk (ESRA) Training Programme, in the form of one-day Introductory Training Workshops for risk managers, and analysts in corporate, investment and retail banking.

The Introductory Workshop starts with an introduction on sustainable finance and then it enters into more detail on specific issues on environmental and social risks. After that, the participants are invited to identify environmental and social risks in projects related to their clients through a training exercise. Some examples of existing practices are presented and finally, there is a concluding discussion on their implementation.

Since 2009, the LATF and the Ecobanking Project are offering a new Advanced Training Workshop on Environmental and Social Risks Analysis. The Advanced Workshop is aimed at FI representatives with a clear mandate within their institutions to carry out the analysis of environmental and social risks and who are already familiar with the basics of this practice. The tools presented are much more sophisticated.

The methodology of both Workshops was designed in collaboration with the Ecobanking Project of the INCAE Business School; they include a mix of theory, illustrations and practical exercises.

Previous and upcoming workshops are listed below:
