MAT2 - The Materiality of Environmental, Social and Governance Issues to Securities Pricing in 2005

In 2005, a second invitation will be sent to brokerage houses. Known as "MAT2", this project will produce reports on the financial materiality of environmental, social and governance issues to equity pricing for the following sectors:

  • Financial Services
  • Automobile
  • Aero Defence
  • Food and Beverage
  • Chemicals
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Basic Materials (Forestry, Iron and Steel, Other Extractives)

The reports will be global, focused, and in-depth analyses. They will incorporate both sell side reports by brokers and buy side narratives/analysis of how investment managers internalize and apply valuations of environmental, social and corporate governance information.

The group will obtain fewer reports than in 2004 and aim to launch each one at small, invite-only events in a number of regions.

Interested brokerage houses can contact: investment@unepfi.org

The summary publication, written for mainstream members of the financial community, will include extracts and comments from an independent investment consultant and members the Asset Management Working Group. The publication will be launched in Q2 2006.
