In collaboration with Deloitte Malaysia, UNEP FI is organising a series of events focused on enhancing the talent and capabilities of the Malaysian banking industry. The series aims to better prepare participants to respond to growing stakeholder expectations and regulatory requirements on climate change. Every quarter in 2022, a new topic on climate-related risk will be covered and will include:

  • Global, regional, and local emerging trends and sharing of practices in managing climate risk
  • Insights into the growing regulatory expectations for advancing preparations of climate risk management into banking practices, such as governance, risk management, scenario analysis, stress testing, and disclosures.

  • An overview of the BCBS’s principles for effective management of climate-related risks and supervisory expectations
  • An introduction to UNEP FI’s report, The Climate Risk Landscape which summarises the developments across third party climate risk assessment providers since May 2019, including new and updated scenarios, methodological tools, key guidelines, as well as an overview of the changing regulatory landscape.
