Training sessions on “Environmental & Social Risk Analysis/Blue Finance” in Barbados, Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG)

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) in collaboration with the Governments of Barbados, Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are implementing a SDG Joint Fund Programme project. This project aims, among others, to elaborate sustainable development financing strategies for four priority sectors with an overarching objective of ensuring more inclusive and gender responsive response towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The first training on Environmental & Social Risk Analysis (ESRA)/Blue Finance for the Financial Sector in these countries will be held in dedicated sessions on 23, 30 June and 13 July, 2022, from 10:30 to 12:30 local time.

This training programme will introduce participants to strategies and tools to detect, mitigate and evaluate environmental and social risks (E&S), and apply methods that illustrate the effective implementation of E&S risk analysis in Barbados, Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’s financial sector.

Target Audience: Risk managers and analysts in financial institutions, governments and financial regulators with little or no knowledge/experience of ESRA in Barbados, Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Methodology: The training includes a mix of theory, illustrations and practical exercises where risk managers and analysts in financial institutions, governments and financial regulators with little or no knowledge/experience of ESRA in Barbados, Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Training calendar:

  • 23 June, 2022: Implementation I – Identifying Risks
  • 30 June, 2022: Implementation II– Analysing Risks
  • 13 July, 2022: Implementation III– Managing Risks

The webinar will be delivered in English and materials will be shared with all participants before each training session starts.

Participants who actively participate in the 3 training sessions and submit all course assignments will receive a certificate of attendance from UNEP FI and its partners at the end of the training.
