Brief Overview of Organisation

The LVM group of companies offers a complete product portfolio from the areas of insurance, provision and financial services. LVM Versicherung is a broad-based insurer for private customers, small and medium-sized businesses and farmers. It currently operates in the business fields of motor, general liability, property, accident, legal protection, health and life. In addition, the financial services business segment brokers construction financing and products from cooperation partners. Around 3.7 million private individuals and companies are customers of LVM Versicherung in these matters and have concluded around 12.7 million contracts.
Around 2200 trusted agents – this is the name given to the self-employed commercial agents (according to § 84 of the German Commercial Code) of LVM Versicherung – together with their approximately 5300 employees are active throughout Germany in sales and for on-site customer service. In 2020, they were supported by more than 3900 employees from the company headquarters in Münster.
LVM Versicherung consists of the parent company, LVM a. G., and its subsidiaries. The legal form of the parent company is Versicherungsverein auf Gegenseitigkeit (mutual insurance association, VVaG for short). The special feature of this legal form is that the insured persons of the insurance association are themselves the association members.
The LVM subsidiaries are public limited companies (AG for short), 100 per cent of whose shares are owned by the parent company LVM a. G.

Summary of Sustainability Strategy

Sustainability is a matter close to LVM’s heart and a central part of its corporate philosophy. For us, sustainability means taking long-term and and holistic responsibility for people and the environment. This we already live this self-image in many different ways – be it in our ecological ecological, social or entrepreneurial actions.
In order to structure our sustainable efforts even more clearly and to provide them with concrete goals, we released the “Sustainability Strategy 2025” at the end of last year. We want to implement this over the next three years based on seven fields of action: Sustainability activities at our campus, sustainable products and claims, sustainable investment, our understanding as a responsible employer and contractual partner, and diversity of perspectives.
We want to underline our holistic approach by joining PSI and show that we are doing our part as a sustainable insurance company and are serious about implementing it within the company and through cooperation with other institutions.
