UNEP FI welcomes ASOBANCA the Newest Supporting Institution in Ecuador

UNEP FI extends a warm welcome to ASOBANCA, the Association of Private Ecuadorian Banks (Asociación de Bancos Privados del Ecuador) as the newest supporting institution in the Latin America and Caribbean region. As a member of FELABAN (Latin American Federation of Banks), ASOBANCA has been working to strengthen the Ecuadorian Banking System, represent its interests, provide specialized services and strategic reports, and contribute to the country’s development. Currently, the Association represents 15 banks, which accounts for 84% of the total assets of the Private Banking System. ASOBANCA has promoted a voluntary Agreement of Sustainable Finance for Ecuador with the aim of promoting the implementation of best practices and international policies in Ecuadorian Banking, supporting a balance between economic, social and environmental aspects. We are excited to have the support of ASOBANCA, setting an example for Ecuador and the region,as ‘catalysts of a sustainable culture in Ecuador’s financial ecosystem’.
