Nordea & Sustainability
Nordea is committed to sustainable development by combining financial performance with environmental, ethical and social responsibility.
Nordea is a member of networks focused on sustainable business practices and we have signed and are committed to the United Nations Environmental Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) and the United Nations Global Compact.
In February 2007 Nordea adopted the Equator Principles, a voluntary set of environmental and social guidelines for project financing, as the first Nordic bank to do so. The Equator Principles is a financial services industry benchmark for assessing and managing social and environmental risk in asset-based project financing.
Nordea has a policy for socially responsible investment – SRI policy. To this end, Nordea’s investment funds are signing the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI), thereby incorporating environmental, social and corporate governance issues into investment decision-making processes.
