On January 1, 2012, Kutxabank begins its operations, a bank that emerged from the integration process of the three Basque Savings Banks – BBK, Kutxa, and Vital – the only shareholders of the new entity, which transferred their financial business to it.
Kutxabank was born with a privileged positiong in terms of solvency, a diversified balance sheet, a new corporate governance model, and undeniable leadership in the regions where we have traditionally carried out our activities. We are an entity committed to people and to economic and social development as our main objective.
Our strategic focus is centered on a local banking model, and the entities that form part of the Group share common processes, policies, and central services, which enable us to achieve economies of scale and sustainable benefits. Our priority is our clients, as we base our business model on a relationship of proximity, trust, and long-term engagement with the people and SMEs in our environment.
At Kutxabank, we maintain the commitment to give back to society part of the recurring profit generated, through the Social Works that we carry out in each of the regions.
