Understanding and managing impacts is essential for organizations to manage their risks and operate sustainably. Our current SDGs & Impact workstream will now become the UNEP FI Impact Centre, a centre of expertise bringing together UNEP FI’s work on impact management, supported by a pioneering holistic impact methodology to align financial portfolios with internationally recognized standards through a set of resources.
This change better reflects the work of the Impact Team, which will continue to provide services and technical support available to UNEP FI members. Members can access the Impact Centre and its resources to embed the practice of impact management into their business strategies and operations, to help meet environmental and social challenges whilst also achieving business objectives.
The Impact Centre will offer five distinct workstreams:
- Impact management methodology
- Interoperability solutions
- Member implementation support
- Internal advisory services
- Convening and consensus-building.
From defining positive impact finance in 2017 to embedding impact management (IM) in the banking sector via the Principles for Responsible Banking and the progressive development of a unique suite of implementation resources, UNEP FI has been a recognized pioneer and leader in IM for mainstream financial players for nearly a decade. We look forward to this work continuing through the Impact Centre.
