The Adaptation and Resilience Impact Measurement Toolkit is available as both an excel file and a web app and downloaded alongside an explanatory word document. It provides sustainability, investment, impact and risk teams at financial institutions with a practical, credible framework for assessing, tracking, and reporting adaptation and resilience impact across their financing activities.

Developed through the UNEP FI-led Climate Adaptation Innovation and Learning community of practice, the toolkit provides guidance to identify and set results indicators, which measure the actual resilience outputs, outcomes and impacts resulting from financed activities, and practice indicators, which measure whether the institution is building the capabilities, processes, and partnerships needed to measure and drive results.

By clarifying how to generate and use evidence of risk reduction and performance improvement, it helps institutions build stronger business cases, meet growing demands for demonstrating impact before and after an investment, and navigate emerging regulatory requirements for climate-risk disclosure and sustainable finance taxonomies.

The Climate Adaptation Innovation and Learning project is financed by the Global Environment Facility and implemented by UNIDO, in partnership with Climate KIC, the Global Adaptation and Resilience Investment Working Group, and UNEP FI. We are developing a unique knowledge platform for climate adaptation–a hub to drive innovation and boost private sector engagement.
