In December 2025, the PSI Working Group for Nature introduced its new two-part series, Nature Uncovered for Insurers, through a dedicated webinar series. The series provides practical emerging guidance for insurers on undertaking nature-related assessments in underwriting portfolios. The two reports—Rooted in Risk and Breaking Ground—set out key concepts, definitions, and practical early-stage steps for assessing nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities (DIROs) across both non-life and life & health lines of business.

Watch the recording of the morning session here and the afternoon session here.

About Nature Uncovered for Insurers

The Nature Uncovered for Insurers series addresses a critical gap in practical insights on nature-related assessments tailored for insurance underwriting.

  • Rooted in Risk supports insurers in developing a foundational understanding of DIROs within underwriting portfolios, interpreting and applying established concepts to insurance.
  • Breaking Ground provides early practical considerations and emerging examples to help insurers translate frameworks into actionable steps for conducting nature-related assessments.

Together, the reports equip insurers to begin undertaking assessments, integrate nature considerations into business processes, enhance risk management, and inform nature-related disclosures.
