The Chaucer Group is a market-leading specialty underwriting business, providing insurance and reinsurance products and services to clients, brokers and coverholders around the world. Headquartered in London and employing over 500 people worldwide, with more than 120 specialist underwriters across our offices in Dublin, Bermuda, Singapore, Dubai, Copenhagen, Sydney, Ipswich and through our strategic hub in Latin America. We underwrite through Syndicates 1084 and 1176 at Lloyd’s of London and through Chaucer Insurance Company, based in Dublin, offering clients and brokers the choice of Lloyd’s or company paper.

At Chaucer we are committed to embedding Environmental, Social and Governance ethics into all our decision making across our entire business. We truly believe this is some of the most important work we do. We are determined to deliver, and help our customers and partners deliver, real change.
By aligning with the UN Environment’s Principles for Sustainable Insurance Initiative provides us with a valuable external framework to align our own ESG strategy with.
In 2022, Chaucer, in collaboration with Moody’s, launched our ESG Balanced Scorecard across underwriting, investments and operations. The data driven scorecard will measure the ESG performance of clients and business partners, using up to 158 datapoints. The scorecard will enable Chaucer and all our counterparties to manage and measure their ESG profile, enabling us to deliver real change.
