The Bank Indicator Repository compiles sustainability and impact management related indicators that have been developed specifically for the banking sector.
The resource brings together sustainability and impact management indicators developed specifically for the banking sector. It is designed to help banks measure and manage their contributions to sustainability across key environmental and social topics.
The bank-specific indicators included in the repository are developed by UNEP FI and TNFD, covering sustainability themes: Climate Change, Nature and Biodiversity, Circular Economy, Gender, Human Rights, Financial Health and Financial Inclusion.
To support practical use, each indicator is mapped to the Sustainable Development Goals and is systematically categorized by:
- Sustainability issue (aligned with the impact areas and impact topics of UNEP FI Impact Radar)
- Business line relevance
- Product specificity
- Indicator typology (based on four action categories as per Impact Protocol)
The Repository is not exhaustive and not final; it will continue to evolve as indicators are refined and expanded.
