As the transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy accelerates, financial institutions have a crucial role to play in ensuring that this shift is fair, inclusive and supportive of long-term economic opportunity. This webinar brings together leaders from banking, insurance and other sectors to share emerging approaches, practical experience and lessons learned in advancing just transition finance.

The discussion reflects UNEP FI’s global work with banks and insurers to translate just transition principles into real-world decision-making across diverse regional and sectoral contexts. It coincides with the launch of the final report from the Just Transition Pilot Programme, which presents 13 in-depth case studies of financial institutions developing and applying new tools, frameworks and financing approaches to support a fair and inclusive climate transition.

The report highlights practical examples of how institutions are integrating social and climate considerations into transition planning, product development, client engagement, sector strategies, multi-stakeholder partnerships, measurement and reporting, and internal capacity building.
