The First International Conference of the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC IC1) will take place from 16–20 November 2026 at the at the Geneva International Conference Centre in Switzerland, bringing together governments, financial institutions, industry, civil society and other stakeholders to advance global action towards a planet free of harm from chemicals and waste.
Adopted in September 2023, the Global Framework on Chemicals sets out five strategic objectives and 28 targets to promote the sound management of chemicals and waste throughout their lifecycle, protecting human health and the environment.
GFC IC1 will provide an important opportunity to track progress towards the Framework’s objectives, accelerate implementation and explore ways to mobilize finance, innovation and cross-sector collaboration to advance the sound management of chemicals and waste.
