Español: La Iniciativa Financiera del Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente (UNEP FI) celebrará su Regional Roundtable sobre Finanzas Sostenibles para América Latina y el Caribe los días 30 y 31 de enero de 2024 en Bogotá, Colombia. Este importante evento reunirá a más de 400 bancos y aseguradoras miembros de UNEP FI, representantes de gobiernos, inversores, instituciones de apoyo, académicos y sociedad civil para explorar los próximos pasos y acciones necesarias para integrar las finanzas sostenibles en la región.
Los ponentes y participantes debatirán sobre el papel de la banca, los seguros y la inversión en la aceleración de la transición hacia un futuro bajo en carbono, inclusivo y sostenible en la región. El acto pondrá de relieve el rol y respuestas del sector financiero a problemas como el cambio climático, la pérdida de biodiversidad, la contaminación por plásticos y la desigualdad, asuntos que representan grandes desafíos para la región. Los participantes abordarán además temas importantes como el avance de los marcos y taxonomías de las finanzas sostenibles, el futuro de los Principios para la Banca Responsable, la implementación de los Principios para los Seguros Sostenibles, cómo las tecnologías pueden ayudar a integrar la sostenibilidad en el sector, la promoción de la salud y la inclusión financiera, y las oportunidades de la economía circular para la región.

English: UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is hosting its Regional Roundtable on Sustainable Finance for Latin America and Caribbean on 30-31 January 2024 in Bogotá, Colombia. This important event will convene 400+ UNEP FI member banks and insurers, investors, supporting institutions, policymakers, academia and civil society to explore the next steps and actions needed to mainstream sustainable finance in the region.
Speakers and participants will discuss the role of banking, insurance and investment in accelerating the transition to a low-carbon, inclusive and sustainable future in the region. The event will highlight the finance industry’s responses to global issues like climate change, biodiversity loss and plastic pollution. Participants will further address important topics including advancement of sustainable finance frameworks and taxonomies, next steps in the Principles for Responsible Banking, implementing the Principles for Sustainable Insurance, how technologies can help integrate sustainability in the sector, promoting financial health and inclusion, and the opportunities of the circular economy for the region, among other important topics.
The event will be held in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.
