Financial institutions increasingly rely on climate scenarios to inform strategy, risk management and target setting, but navigating the large number of available scenarios and translating them into practical insights remains a challenge.
This webinar will introduce the UNEP FI Climate Pathways Navigator, a new tool designed to help financial institutions access and interpret climate scenario data more easily. The tool distils hundreds of complex climate scenarios into a focused set of sectoral and regional insights that can support target setting, financial decision-making, and more effective client and corporate engagement. Through a clear and intuitive visual interface, financial institutions can explore key pathways and better understand their implications for different sectors and regions.
Developed by UNEP FI in collaboration with financial institutions and leading authors and scientists from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the Climate Pathways Navigator is the only interface for IPCC climate scenarios designed specifically by and for the finance sector. The tool has been built and refined through more than a year of testing with banks, insurers, investors and export credit agencies to ensure it meets the practical needs of the industry.
During this session, participants will receive a live demonstration of the tool and learn how it can be used to support climate target setting and strategic decision-making.
