Company Profile

At Banco CUSCATLAN, we are the number one provider of housing loans and the second largest bank in El Salvador. We operate based on environmental, social, and governance standards to ensure that our investments and business partners are consistent with our principles of fairness, sustainability, and transparency.

Through green financing initiatives, energy efficiency, and financial inclusion programmes, we actively work to generate a positive and lasting impact, aligning ourselves with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Sustainability Strategy

Our strategy is based on three fundamental pillars:

Environmental: We recognise the importance of timely and responsible management of energy and resources in an efficient manner. We are therefore committed to the long-term goals of the international community to transition to more efficient and environmentally friendly technologies, thereby contributing to climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Social: We promote financial education and respect for the rights of all people in all our operations, and we ensure that our partners and allies act consistently within their organisations. We believe that financial health and compliance with all national and international laws that protect them provide a solid foundation for our social investment in development, for the well-being of all Salvadorans.

Governance: We build inclusive business relationships under solid ethical standards based on our Code of Conduct and compliance policies that allow us to keep our organisation free of conflicts of interest. We prevent and categorically reject any hint of bribery and corruption throughout our value chain.

The purpose of being signatories is to be able to expand the positive impact of our sustainability strategy thanks to the global reach of the Principles for Responsible Banking. This adherence reinforces our commitment to sustainable management, aligned with global challenges and the expectations of our stakeholders, and allows us to actively contribute to a more inclusive, resilient and responsible financial system.
