The Environmental & Social Risk Analysis (ESRA) Hybrid Training Course

In 2021, United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), Ecobanking Project/ INCAE Business School, and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, in collaboration with China SIF, SynTao Green Finance and RepRisk delivered for the first time the Environmental & Social Risk Analysis (ESRA) hybrid training in Chinese, which consists of a three-week’ online course and two-days’ in-person Workshop that includes peer-sharing sessions. This hybrid training took place in Beijing (China) from 15 September to 15 October, 2021.

The ESRA Online Course provides in-depth and personalised training. Tutors engage with participants online on a daily basis, providing guidance and facilitating debates.  Participants are involved in a range of activities, from simulating implementation of environmental and social policies and guidelines and analysing case studies, to carrying out exercises based on their own clients’ environmental and social impacts.

The ESRA in-person training offers the practical exercise by encouraging participants’ communication and discussion, knowledge and experience sharing activities. The ESRA peer sharing sessions invite several financial experts to share their practice and experience in establishing environmental and social risk management systems from their organizations’ practice, which deepens participants’ understanding of methodologies related to environmental and social risk analysis and strengthen their practical skills.
