Solidario is specialized in microfinance: it attends the productive, consumption and saving needs of the lower-income segments of the population, where – according to the National Statistics Institute – 70% of Ecuador’s population is located. This focus defines the strategy and business plan. Its vision is to be a leader in the financial and social inclusion of large segments of the population, building a network of mutually beneficial relations.

Our work does not only involve credit, but it also means granting access to a number of services such as: savings, payment services, micro insurance, financial education, creation of credit history, among others.

We were the first to incorporate Smart Campaign principles in our loan advisors manual and have received Smart Campaign Certification. We also regularly undergo social ratings, the latest in July 2019 (A).

Our environmental focus has largely been resource optimization and waste management and recycling. However, since 2018 we developed an integrated environmental system with manuals and policies in place, and an ongoing program to measure and reduce our carbon footprint.

We are aligned with several SDG sustainable development goals such as #1 and #8, as well as some of the environmental principles.
