Shaping the sustainable insurance agenda in Egypt
An inaugural market event convened by UN Environment’s Principles for Sustainable Insurance Initiative (PSI) and
the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA)
9 April 2019
About the event
This inaugural PSI Egyptian Market Event is the first of its kind in the Middle East & North Africa. It is designed to complement the UNEP FI Regional Roundtable on Sustainable Finance for Africa & the Middle East that will be held in Cairo from 10 to 11 April, and the 2nd PSI African Market Event in Lagos, Nigeria from 29 to 30 April 2019.
The Cairo event will help shape the sustainable insurance agenda in Egypt and the region across the insurance industry’s triple role as risk managers, insurers and investors in promoting sustainable development. Examples of issues that will be covered include climate change, disaster risk reduction, the insurance protection gap, resilient infrastructure and cities, and the recommendations of the Financial Stability Board’s Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
The event will also feature the initial regional promotion of the first-ever insurance industry guide to manage environmental, social and governance risks in non-life insurance business.
See the draft programme.
The event is by-invitation only. Please register here.
